Ladies Day

The annual ladies day took place on Sunday 1st July. Over 40 members attended the traditional event where the gentlemen of the club serve the ladies with their afternoon tea followed by a bowling competition to decide the winner of the Ladies Day Cup. It was a most successful day with a fantastic spread prepared by Gillian Rudrum and Mary Gough.

The sandwiches and savouries were followed by strawberries and cream and cakes made by the Ladies.

The President Colin Rudrum welcomed all the members who attended and gave thanks to the ladies before 16 Ladies played a mixed doubles competition with three different partners of 7 ends each.

All participants enjoyed the closely fought contest and 6 of the ladies achieved more than 20 points, with the winner Mrs. Elaine Grace on 29 points retaining the cup. The runner up on 25 points was Mrs. Margaret Emery.
